Sadie doesn’t just walk through a garden - she moves through it like a living poem, nose to the breeze, ears gently fluttering, leaving a trail of joy (and pollen) in her wake.

A certified scent detective and unapologetic flower enthusiast, Sadie has a soft spot for black-eyed Susans, golden afternoons, and lingering just a little too long in the middle of a garden bed. With the heart of a romantic and the nose of a bloodhound, she’s on a gentle mission to sniff out all that is beautiful in the world - preferably before lunchtime.

Her daily rituals include:

• Delicately pressing her snout into every bloom (twice, just to be sure)

• Gazing off into the sunshine as though composing floral-themed sonnets

• Returning indoors covered in petals, proud as punch

• Collapsing in a sunlit spot, dreaming of bees and buttercups

Sadie is not in a rush. Life, she believes, is meant to be inhaled slowly - one glorious scent at a time. Whether it’s the smell of fresh earth, the trace of a biscuit hidden in a coat pocket, or the perfume of a well-loved sock, Sadie savours it all with wide-eyed wonder and a slightly wiggly bottom.

And though her ancestors were bred to flush out game birds with serious purpose, Sadie has repurposed that energy into the noble pursuit of comfort, companionship and being exactly where you need her, just when you need her most.

This portrait captures her mid-bliss - eyes soft, nose nestled among her beloved blossoms, as if she is one of the flowers herself. Vibrant, gentle and impossible to ignore.

Sadie reminds us that the world is full of little joys hiding in plain sight - if only we’d stop and sniff the Susans.
