Ramble – The Gentle Daydreamer
Part of the “Fluff & Florals” Series
6x6" Acrylic on MDF Panel | Painted in expressive realism using just three primaries and white
Ramble is a large dog with an even larger sense of wonder—equal parts gentle poet, part-time cloud analyst and unintentional furniture rearranger. With paws that seem too big for any single room and a spirit too dreamy to be confined by things like “boundaries” or “personal space,” Ramble wanders through the day as if the world is unfolding just for him… very, very slowly.
He has a special gift for making the ordinary feel important. A breeze through an open window? Profound. The clink of a spoon in a mug? Riveting. A leaf tumbling across the path? Suspicious, possibly magical.
His approach to life can be best described as:
Move slow
Think deep
Sit awkwardly in doorways as though delivering a heartfelt sermon to the hallway
Favourite activities include sprawling across surfaces not built to accommodate him, blinking slowly like he’s trying to solve a riddle, and gently thwapping breakable items off tables with a tail that lives in a state of permanent curiosity. Furniture trembles when he passes. Cushions shift. Curtains billow. Ramble doesn’t try to make an impact—he just exists, and the room adapts accordingly.
This portrait captures Ramble in one of his classic contemplative moods—gazing out the window as if solving a secret only birds and soft winds know. With expressive eyes and a floral frame, he looks like he’s about to recite a sonnet about toast or softly nudge a biscuit off a bench just to see what happens.
Ramble doesn’t race through life. He drifts, gently and purposefully, like a warm fog in the shape of a dog.
Dream it, Paint it!
