Meet B U T T O N
Button – The Cushion Critic
Part of the “Fluff & Florals” Series
6x6" Acrylic on MDF Panel
Button is not impressed. Or rather, rarely impressed. And certainly not by your average throw pillow.
With the discerning eye of an interior stylist and the unimpressed pout of a velvet-robed queen, Button is a seasoned connoisseur of cushion culture. No seat goes untested. No fabric goes unjudged. Every cushion in the home has, at some point, been on the receiving end of that now-iconic stare - the one that says, “You call this plush?”
Button doesn’t sit. Button perches. And only on surfaces that meet a highly specific checklist:
Floral print density: medium to maximum
Plushness: cloud-adjacent
Temperature: slightly warmed by the sun
“Butt feel”: indescribable, but you’ll know when it’s wrong
With a dramatic sigh and a slow, deliberate turn, Button has been known to abandon an inferior cushion mid-snuggle, leaving nothing behind but judgement and a single stray hair.
But it’s not all glare and standards. Once the right setup is achieved (three cushions, a woollen throw, no interruptions), Button melts into the scene like a French aristocrat in exile—regal, resigned and stunningly photogenic.
Outside of nap-time? Button enjoys rearranging soft furnishings with a series of firm grunts and well-timed flops, creating a personalised aesthetic best described as chaotic elegance.
This portrait captures Button’s essence mid-glare - ears pricked, eyes narrowed, tail tucked just so. The floral backdrop? Approved, obviously. The overall composition? Acceptable. The vibe? Curated.
Button doesn’t just appreciate comfort. Button defines it.
Dream it, Paint it!
